Purpose-Driven Leadership

I believe passionately that effective and sustainable organisational performance comes from leadership that has a deep sense of purpose, a purpose that reaches way beyond product, profit, politics and materialistic gain. In fact, many studies today prove that those companies that are driven by a strong sense of purpose out perform their competitors in many ways including staff retention, customer satisfaction, bottom line and interestingly, shareholder return.

According to Deloitte’s 2014 survey entitled, 'Strong sense of purpose a key driver of business investment', “Organisations with a strong sense of purpose are more likely to create a ‘best place to work’ culture that drives innovation, embraces diversity and helps employees reach their full potential.’

The survey reveals that 73% of employees that work with organisations that have a strong sense of purpose are fully engaged compared with 23% of employees that work with organisations that do not have a strong sense of purpose.
